Welcome to my Tumblr.
The Site
I started this site as a way to aggregate things I like, primarily for my own benefit. Over time I developed it into a way to share things I think might be interesting, or that I find more interesting than the rest of the junk out there, with other people. I grabbed a few followers but very little re-blogging or ‘liking’ told me my formula was wrong. As a result I’ve decided to limit the remit of my website in the hope it might be mildy interesting to some more people.
The blog should now have a focus on the following things…
The Author
I’m Sam Walton, an undergraduate who’s studying Social Policy.
I’m a great advocate of Open Source Software, an avid Linux user and a supporter of open standards. I’ll be posting from Arch Linux - which is a brilliant distro.
Software isn’t my only ‘geeky’ fixation, I like comics - namley Judge Dredd - Star Trek, old computer games and general science fiction.
Beyond that all you need to know is that I’m a cynical individual. I’m suspicious of authority and domination. I guess that makes me a mildy interesting character.
I’ve got opinions and I like debate.
